In Q2 Schmarl drove his Honda Civic car around the 3.6-km track in 1:36.285 and beat Jordi Oriola (1:36.394) by a bit more than one tenth. The young Spaniard is making a guest appearance at the wheel of one of the three Opel Astra cars run by the Belgian team DG Sport.
Current championship leader and Schmarl teammate Josh Files set the third fastest lap (1:36.438) ahead of another guest competitor, Portugal’s Francisco Mora (1:36.442) who was at the wheel of a SEAT León also run by Target Competition.

Mike Halder (Liqui Moly Team Engstler SEAT) ranked tenth and won pole position on the reverse grid for Sunday’s Race 2, with Antti Buri (LMS Racing SEAT) alongside him.
