M1RA signs Luca Engstler and Dániel Nagy

M1RA will come back to TCR Europe for the 2019 season. The Hungarian team will field two Hyundai i30 N TCR cars with Dániel Nagy and Luca Engstler.
Faithful to the concept that has worked well in the two previous seasons, the 2017 Teams’ Champion of the TCR International Series has chosen again a young Hungarian talent and a TCR champion.
Having confirmed the 20 year-old Nagy, who raced for the team in 2018 scoring one race win and finishing fifth in TCR Europe, M1RA welcomes Luca Engstler who has clinched the TCR Malaysia title earlier this year after bagging the TCR Middle East’s and TCR Asia’s in 2018.

“To continue with Hyundai Motorsport was the next logical step, because the i30 N TCR proved to be one of the best cars in the category and we have a close relationship with the manufacturer. We have two gifted and motivated junior drivers, so I am hopeful to unleash the full potential of our team and to be able to challenge for the TCR Europe title,”said team principal Dávid Bári.

Nagy declared: “I am really happy to continue with M1RA and Hyundai, because after last season this was my main wish. We had a successful year together, I am proud of our podium finish in WTCR and feel at home in this team. I believe there is still room for improvement; consistency is the key, which I missed sometimes last year, but I will be working hard to fight for the title.”

“I am pleased with this next step in my career and happy to work with M1RA. It is clear that this team is one of the best in the championship. My goal is to learn as much as possible, because everything will be new to me: tracks, series, team. The tests showed that we have a good pace, so I am looking forward to the start of the season,” Engstler said.
