Norisring

Temporary street circuit, named after the ancient name for Nuremberg (Noris) to avoid confusion with the Nürburgring. Used for motorcycle racing since May 1947, the circuit saw automobile racing become its main focus in 1967. The current relatively simple layout was made permanent in 1972, consisting of two hairpin bends and a chicane based around a central 40,000 seat grandstand.
