The 2018 TCR Europe champion Mikel Azcona will make his return to the series this weekend at Spa-Francorchamps.
After securing the European title, the young Spaniard has become a regular competitor in the FIA WTCR. He was classified sixth with one race win last year and he’s currently 9^th in the standings at the wheel of the new CUPRA Leon Competición, having come close to the podium on different occasions.
At Spa he will race a second CUPRA car entered by Volcano Motorsport, alongside that of Evgenii Leonov.
Besides his WTCR commitment, Azcona drives for the Spanish outfit in the CER (Campeonato de España Resistencia), sharing a CUPRA with Leonov; they are currently leading the series with five victories from six races.
