The 2018 TCR Europe champion Mikel Azcona will make his return to the series this weekend at Spa-Francorchamps.
After securing the European title, the young Spaniard has become a regular competitor in the FIA WTCR. He was classified sixth with one race win last year and he’s currently 9th in the standings at the wheel of the new CUPRA Leon Competición, having come close to the podium on different occasions.
At Spa he will race a second CUPRA car entered by Volcano Motorsport, alongside that of Evgenii Leonov.
Besides his WTCR commitment, Azcona drives for the Spanish outfit in the CER (Campeonato de España Resistencia), sharing a CUPRA with Leonov; they are currently leading the series with five victories from six races.
