A Yokohama Trophy for the amateur drivers

The TCR Europe series’ promoter has announced the creation of the Yokohama Trophy that will be reserved for amateur drivers.

“Our aim is to help those drivers who are not professional, who don’t benefit from the support of a manufacturer or who have not won any TCR titles in the previous seasons. Thanks to our agreement with Yokohama we will award the first three drivers classified in the Trophy with tyres to be used during the 2021 TCR Europe season,” promoter Paulo Ferreira explained.
Eligibility for the Yokohama Trophy will be established by a panel formed by two WSC Group members, one TCR Europe member and one media representative.
Points will be awarded for each race according to the following scale:

The first three drivers classified in the Yokohama Trophy at the end of the season will be awarded with the following sets of tyres, free of charge:
- Winning driver: all the tyres for the whole 2021 TCR Europe season
- Second: 30 tyres for the 2021 TCR Europe season
- Third: 15 tyres for the 2021 TCR Europe season
