Adam Shepherd picked up a five-second penalty for a collision with new team-mate Viktor Andersson on the final lap at Mugello, dropping him from sixth to 17th in the final order.
 

The British driver made contact with Andersson on the final green-flag lap after a late safety car. He had moved up to sixth position after finishing 11th and scoring points on his series debut in yesterday’s race.

The stewards judged the contact as minor and so awarded a smaller five-second penalty; however, with the field condensed after the safety car, it effectively means an 11-place drop to 17th and out of the points.

Shepherd’s team-mate Marco Butti had already picked up the same penalty in-race for contact with the Hyundai of Junesung Park. This dropped him from second to eighth, though he is now promoted to seventh following Shepherd’s penalty.
