ALM Motorsport celebrate teams’ title at Valencia finale

ALM Motorsport won the 2024 TCR Europe series teams’ title with a race to spare, with Ignacio Montenegro’s second place finish in Race 1 more than enough to secure the Honda-equipped squad its first title in the series, while Ruben Volt added more points with another second place finish on Sunday.

The team finished the season with a sizable 89-point lead over its closest rival, Monlau Motorsport, with the team’s three drivers Ruben Volt, Ignacio Montenegro, and Levente Losonczy all contributing to the team’s points haul across the 12-round season.

“It’s been a fantastic season, I never thought it would turn out this way,” said team manager Martin Laur. “We have three fantastic drivers, and a mega team. I’d like to take a moment to thank every single person, and Honda, JAS Motorsport, all the mechanics and engineers, thank you, it’s your win. To all the fans and family at home, thank you.”

On Sunday, Volt fought his way up to second from fifth on the grid, and was close to the CUPRA of Jimmy Clairet after both of the safety car restarts, but had to settle for second place, but which was enough to move him back up to fourth in the drivers' standings despite missing a round.

"The CUPRAs are a bit too fast this weekend, so I never really got an attacking chance," said Volt. "Jimmy also made zero mistakes so there was nothing I could have done, I tried everything, but P2 was the best I could manage today."
