The TCR Europe series can confirm it will have a capacity grid for the final two rounds of the season, with all 26 spots on the grid having been allocated for the next round at the Red Bull Ring in Austria on September 5-7, and 28 for the curtain closer in Barcelona later that month.
With over 20 cars entered for the first four rounds of the season which began in April, and broke up for the summer just nine weeks later, the newly relaunched category is enjoying a successful resurgence, with competitive racing and a close fight for the title.
So far there’s been seven different race winners from the first eight races, but more importantly close margins in qualifying, fierce but fair fighting on track, with thrilling races and intense battles for all four titles.
With a tyre supply prize fund from key partner Kumho, and a funded entry into the Kumho FIA TCR World Tour for 2026 on offer for this year’s champion, the TCR Europe series has begun to set itself as the destination touring car series for aspiring professional racing drivers.
“We’re incredibly proud of our achievements this year, putting the project and the season together in such a short space of time,” said championship promoter Rubén Fernández.
“The level of competition, and the reaction from competitors, manufacturers, and most of all the fans to this season has been incredible. We’re now really excited to have a full grid for our last two rounds of what will be an exciting to end to an incredible season. While working hard to make sure the last races are an incredible show, we’re also focussed on following this up with an even better 2026, and to quickly build on what we’ve started.”
