Ahead of this weekend’s final event of the 2022 TCR Europe season at the Circuit Barcelona-Catalunya, Comtoyou Team Audi Sport has made a last-minute entry for Frédéric Vervisch, who was one of the team’s regular drivers in the FIA WTCR – World Touring Car Cup until last year.
After first appearing in a Comtoyou Audi RS 3 LMS in the TCR International Series in 2017, Vervisch became a regular fixture in the WTCR for the team, finishing second in last year’s series after winning two races at Motorland Aragón and Pau-Arnos. So far in 2022, the Belgian driver’s stand-out performance was victory at the Nürburgring 24H in an Audi R8 LMS II.
The entry for Vervisch means that Comtoyou will have no fewer than five cars on the entry list for Barcelona. For Comtoyou Racing, Viktor Davidovski and Marco Butti have already won the Diamond Trophy and Rookie category respectively, while Franco Girolami and Tom Coronel are the two nominated drivers to score points in the Teams’ championship and Girolami is on the verge of clinching the Drivers’ title.
