Julien Briché (pole position): “I’m really very happy - it’s the first pole position for me and it’s a good one. It’s great to be on pole position here at Monza because I love this circuit. Obviously, this is only part of the work and it will be a lot more complicated in the race. Comte helped me a little in Qualifying and so we will both start from the front row. It’s a good position to be in for the race and so far everything has gone well. For the championship it will be very difficult, but we will take things one race at a time.”
Aurelien Comte (2nd): “The car was very fast and so I’m happy. I was able to help Julien with a tow and so I’m happy that he could do a good job. I really don’t know what I can do in the race but I will try my best to help Julien. We are trying to secure the title for Julien and it worked well in Qualifying. If he’s behind me in the race I will let him through, because we are both Peugeot drivers and working for the brand. This is racing and obviously we are happy with the result from Qualifying for Peugeot and the team.”
Santiago Urrutia (3rd): “I’m happy with P3, but yesterday is like a different world to today. The Peugeots today are unbelievable and the Hyundais are worse. Teams and people are playing games, which I don’t like. I said that if we didn’t get a tow, we wouldn’t even get through to Q2 but I got a tow and made P3, so I’m happy. I don’t think there’s any way I can stay behind the Peugeots during the race if they have the same pace – I was behind them in Qualifying and I couldn’t even stay in the tow with them. I’m aiming to finish on the podium but it’s going to be tough. Tomorrow, starting from the back, let’s see what we can do as we need the points.”
