Eric Gené says it's everything to play for in Barcelona

Eric Gené claimed his first win of the 2025 season in Race 1 at the Red Bull Ring, leading from lights-to-flag to briefly take the lead of the championship.

While crossing the line fourth in Sunday's race, the Spanish racer was handed a post-race penalty for contact with title rival Jimmy Clairet for avoidable contact, and dropped to 13th - turning what would have been a small lead in the standings into a dead heat with chief rival Marco Butti, with both heading to Gené's home race at the top of the points standings.

"Here at the Red Bull Ring, we showed the pace we had, and with no kilos I showed I was the fastest driver," said Gené. "It’s a shame about the last contact, but I’m really happy with the results we’ve had. I overtook both Clairets in the championship and it’s really tight with Marco now, so there’s everything to play for in Montmelo, I’m really looking forward to it."
