Felipe Fernández will now start this afternoon’s race from pole position after the GOAT Racing driver’s lap time was restored, after it was confirmed the wrong lap time had been removed in error.
Similarly, Franco Girolami’s best lap time of 2:50.075 has been handed back to him after a similar error, which puts the Monlau Motorsport CUPRA driver fourth on the grid for Race 1.
The reshuffle means Fernández will start ahead of the rival ALM Motorsport Honda of Ruben Volt, while title contenders Aurélien Comte and Franco Girolami will start from row two in their CUPRAs.
The updated grid also hands the only Belgian on the grid, Giovanni Scamardi, provisional pole position for the reversed grid second race tomorrow afternoon at his home event.
