In addition to the already-announced MM Motorsport entry for Paolo Rocca, it has now been confirmed that there will be four more new drivers at TCR Europe’s penultimate event at the ‘Temple of Speed’ at the Autodromo Nazionale Monza over the weekend of September 24th/25th.
Following the final event of the TCR Italy series at Vallelunga at the weekend, two of that championship’s regulars will take part in their home event in the TCR Europe series. BF Motorsport will run an Audi RS 3 LMS for Matteo Poloni, while CRM Motorsport will have a Hyundai i30 N for Michele Imberti who ended the season in 9th place in the standings thanks to a win in Race 2 at Misano and second place in Race 2 at Imola.
Two of the existing TCR Europe teams have also announced that they will make some changes for the Monza event. Joining Pepe Oriola in a second Hyundai Elantra N at Team Aggressive Italia will be Hungary’s Levente Losonczy, who finished 11th in the 2022 TCR Eastern Europe series. The Team Principal of HYUNDAI | Janík Motorsport, Václav Janík, replaces the injured Mat’o Homola to partner Jáchym Galáš in another Hyundai Elantra. Janík ended the TCR Eastern Europe series in 4th place in the standings after three podium finishes this season.
With the return of the three RC2 Junior Team entries of Rubén and Felipe Fernández – who won TCR Italy’s Race 2 on Sunday at Vallelunga – and Sergio López, the additional drivers mean that, at 25 cars, the two Monza races should see the largest TCR Europe grids of the season.
