Franco Girolami has thanked his team, CUPRA, and family after clinching a third consecutive TCR title, and his second TCR Europe series drivers’ title after a sensational victory in Race 1, while he played it careful in Race 2 to do all that was needed to bring the title home.

After winning the 2022 championship with Comtoyou Racing and Audi two years ago, Girolami has now won with the sister CUPRA brand and with the Spanish Monlau Motorsport team, taking the title at the team’s home round of the calendar, while team-mate Viktor Davidovski celebrated his first podium of the season.

Monlau Motorsport also won its inter-brand teams’ battle with SP Compétition, with Girolami’s ane Davidovski’s results moving it ahead of SP Compétition and up to second in the teams’ standings.

“I don’t have the words to say thank you,” said Girolami. “Thank you to CUPRA, thank you Monlau, Jaime, Xavi, David, Jaime, my mechanics, my family, I’m so proud for this team, we made this together step by step all year. We made some small mistakes, but we kept pushing and this is the result, for Argentina thank you very much. Vamos!”
