Giovanni Altoè is the first driver to commit for parallel full-season programmes in the TCR Europe and the TCR Italy. He will be at the wheel of an Audi RS3 LMS car run by Pit Lane Competizioni with the aim to compete for winning the DSG trophy in both series.
"I'm so excited! It will be a very to tough season for me: 14 racing weekends and 28 races mean that I will be on track every week. I will drive the very same car, but I will have to adapt my driving style to the different tyres," said Altoè who will make his debut in the TCR Italy’s opening event at Imola next week. "I started working with Pit Lane Competizioni this winter, racing the TCR Middle East. Staying with them will help me to grow up faster. It will be a long season, I have to discover all the European racetracks, but I feel ready. I want to fight for both the TCR Italy and TCR Europe DSG title."
Team principal Roberto Remelli commented: "We are happy to have Giovanni with us. Despite his young age he has already grown a great experience. Last year he won the DSG class in the TCR Europe Trophy; we will help him to defend that title and to fight for the TCR Italy DSG trophy too.”
Pit Lane Competizioni has already announced other entries in the TCR Italy, but they are still in negotiations with a few more drivers to increase the number of cars in both the European and the Italian series.
