Kobe Pauwels (first in TCR Europe): “It was a hectic one, especially at the start. I started P14 and 4th in TCR Europe. In the first corners I guess I always took the correct lines, outside, inside, outside I always choose the right one and I managed to come out in P2 at the end of the first lap. I let Rob (Huff) by because he is a World Tour driver, and I know myself I will start defending and lose time so I took the smart way and let him by. From then on it was just a case of putting pressure on Tom and it worked; he made a small mistake into T1, and then going into T2 we were side by side and I knew he was going to force me wide, he has 34 years of experience so he knows how to handle that situation, but apparently I know how to do it better! He tried to force me wide, but I just cut back and from then on it was just managing the tyres and managing the race, and I succeeded, and it was my win, again!”
Tom Coronel (second in TCR Europe): “It was good. I had a mega start, really like a rocket and found myself early in P10. Then I made a small mistake to try and fight for P9, I was fighting Thed Björk, then he overtook me into the first corner which is a pity. In the race we had good pace, but at one stage I made a mistake into the first corner, then Pauwels overtook me, and I was second, so overall I think it was really good. We have 40kg in the car, the heaviest car of all the guys, so yeah, all under control, all was good, good points, good for the championship so all ok.”
Kevin Ceccon (third in TCR Europe): “First time in TCR Europe and its mega! First podium for the team into this big new challenge and for me and them is great. Second time out on the podium, we were on the podium in the TCR Italian Festival and now here in Europe. We didn’t have much preparation for these two events, but we did a good job, improving step by step so I think it’s good.”
