Jenson Brickley claimed his second win of 2025 in the second race at the Red Bull Ring, charging through from fourth on the grid to second on the opening lap, before closing down and passing race leader Jimmy Clairet at Turn 3 later in the race.
The points haul puts him just 11 points behind the two points leaders Marco Butti and Brickley's Monlau Motorsport team-mate Eric Gené in the standings, and means he goes to Barcelona in three weeks' time in genuine contention for the championship.
It was also his third win in the Youth Best Trophy for 21-and-under drivers, which means he'll also be in the frame for that title in Spain, which is also led by his team-mate Gené.
Brickley's win came after finishing 11th in Saturday's race after he was handed a ten second penalty for contact with Jacopo Cimenes on the opening lap.
“Obviously I was a bit disheartened after the penalty, so I had to do a reset and put full focus on the second race," said Brickley.
"I knew I had a chance starting from P4. I got a good start, and passed Max into Turn 3, and then it was all about pushing Jimmy. I tried to make him make a mistake, but he didnt really make any - I saw where I was faster and I did a little dive into Turn 3 and it paid off perfectly.
"It was then all about managing the pace, I got a pretty nice gap until the safety car. I then focussed on getting a good restart which again I did. Overall it was a perfect race, and I had really good pace given we had 40kg of ballast, and now I’m really looking forward to Barcelona."
