UK touring car racer Jenson Brickley will make his TCR Europe series debut later this month at the season finale at the Circuit Ricardo Tormo near Valencia, driving the latest CUPRA Leon VZ TCR for his own racing team.
The 20-year-old will be the first British driver in the series since 2023. The current TCR Spain points leader is looking forward to his third different TCR category in just two years, after winning a race and taking five podiums in the TCR UK championship last year. Brickley was a contender for the title in only his first year of competition, before joining the Spanish series this year, which he currently leads after scoring three podiums in the first two race meetings.
His team Jenson Brickley Racing will run him in a Leon VZ TCR, which has been the dominant force in the 2024 season, with Franco Girolami and Aurélien Comte having won four of the ten races to-date in the new-for-2024 Spanish touring car.
“I am super-excited to be joining the TCR Europe grid for the final round at Valencia in a few weeks time," said Brickley. "We have really enjoyed our experience overseas so far this season and thought that it was the right time to step up to TCR Europe and see how we fare against the others! It's a new challenge for us as a team but we are going to give it our all. Hopefully we can gain some valuable experience at Valencia, which is a new track for me, in preparation for rounds five and six of TCR Spain the weekend after.”
