Jimmy Clairet stunned the field as he won his first race in only his fourth race of the year, after only making two guest appearances at Spa-Francorchamps and Valencia in his Baldan Group by Comtoyou-run CUPRA Leon VZ TCR.

Clairet went from second to take the lead early on the first lap and controlled the race from there. Clairet has been present at most of the season, as he and his family Team Clairet Sport team have provided assistance to the Baldan Group by Comtoyou team that have run the full season programme of Nicola Baldan.

Clairet’s win was his first in three years, after winning the second heat at Paul Ricard in 2021.

“I feel really happy, because it’s tough for us to test with the car due to the budget - so I’m happy as we’ve only done Spa before this one, and we succeeded to do something good with the car. Today I’m really happy for my dad and (my brother) Teddy, as we do this all together.

“I actually had a bad start, but luckily for me (Viktor) Davidovski made a mistake at T2, and when you have a good car and you’re running first with nobody behind you it’s more easy to have a good pace.”
