Jimmy Clairet led an all-Audi top three in the final practice session of the day at Portimão, leading his brother Teddy Clairet by just 63-thousandths of a second, with the two French drivers displacing the PMA Motorsport Audi of Felice Jelmini in the final minutes of the session.
Behind them was the fastest of the Honda contingency, with Marco Butti, also the best of the young driver category competitors fourth quickest in his Honda Civic Type R, just ahead of the best-placed of the Hyundais, that of Julien Briché, who was also the leading Diamond Trophy driver.
Ruben Volt ended the session sixth, after taking over at the top of the time sheet just before the 20-minute mark. The Estonian was ahead of Canada’s Nicolas Taylor, with Viktor Andersson’s MA:GP Lynk & Co eighth, with the two RC2 Racing Team Hondas of Santiago Concépcion and Felipe Fernández rounding out the top ten.
The two Monlau Motorsport CUPRAs of Eric Gené and Jenson Brickley, which had led the way in Free Practice 1, were 13th and 12th respectively in the final practice session.
The next session is Qualifying, which gets underway at 09:25 local time (10:25 CEST) tomorrow morning.
