Junesung Park was fastest of all in the first practice session of the TCR Europe series at the Mugello Circuit in a close session, with the South Korean driver just six-thousandths of a second ahead of Hyundai rival Alex Ley, with the top four separated by less than a tenth of a second.

The majority of the drivers’ best times were set during the first part of the session, with Mike Halder the closest driver to the two Hyundais in third on his return in the ALM Motorpsort Honda Civic.

Park’s team-mate Junui Park was fourth quickest, with Gabriele Covini fifth fastest in the second of BRC Racing Team’s Hyundais.

The best-placed CUPRA was that of Marco Butti in sixth, while Nicolas Taylor was the only Audi driver in the top ten in eighth, six-tenths off the pace.

The best-placed of the Diamond Trophy drivers was Sandro Pelatti in 18^th, while Ley was the quickest of the Youth drivers.
