Junui Park claimed his first overall victory as well as his first Youth Best Trophy victory in Race 2 at the Hungaroring, jumping into the lead from second on the grid at the start of the race and controlling the pace from there.
The young South Korean found himself under threat from ALM Motorsport’s Ruben Volt in the closing stages, but managed to fend off the Estonian to claim victory by just three-tenths of a second, the second win for the team since it joined the series last year.
Park’s victory comes in a breakthrough year for him, in which he also won at the TCR Europe Cup at Spa-Francorchamps earlier in the year.
“I’m really happy,” said Park. “2025 was bad with no podiums and many retirements. We’ve changed a lot of things for this year.
“I was a little bit worried at the end, as I had good pace before the safety car, but at the end my front tyres were nearly dead and I had no tyres left, but I just focussed on what was in front and not what was behind me, and I’m now I’m finally P1.”
