Junui Park was fastest of all in the final practice session at the Red Bull Ring, taking over from his team-mate who led the first session in his Solite Indigo Racing Hyundai Elantra.

Park set two quick laps just before the final ten minute mark to take over from Jimmy Clairet’s Audi, who’d led the way through much of the first half of the session.

A number of improvements, amidst a mass of track limit violation-driven lap deletions saw MM Motorsport’s Marco Butti move up to second, ahead of the PMA Motorsport Audi of Nicolas Taylor in third, with the ALM Motorsport Honda and MA:GP Lynk & Co of Ruben Volt and Viktor Andersson completing the top five.

René Kircher, who has the most experience of this circuit from his time in TCR Germany and TCR Eastern Europe, finished the session in sixth, just ahead of early session leader Jimmy Clairet.

It was again a close session, with the top 16 cars covered by a second.

Qualifying is next up, which takes place at 9:50 CEST on Saturday morning.

The best-placed of the Diamond Trophy drivers was the PMA Motorsport Audi of Sandro Pelatti, who after missing much of the first session, was 18th quickest in the second session. It was another difficult session for his team-mate Nicolas Taylor, who stopped at the halfway point of the session at Turn 7 and would only finish up 15th fastest.

The next session is qualifying, which gets underway at 10:55 CEST on Saturday morning.
