Marco Butti has made the move to Monlau Motorsport for this year's TCR Europe Touring Car Series, completing the team's three-car line-up. The 20-year-old will be behind the wheel of one of the team's CUPRA Leon VZ TCRs as they look to defend its titles from last year.

Butti heads into his third season in TCR Europe, after winning the Trophy class in his debut year in 2022, before focussing on the TCR Italy championship in 2023 and then moved to the FIA TCR World Tour in 2024.

Butti came back to TCR Europe last year and was a title contender right from the start, and went into the final round with the lead of the championship, but missed out as he was struck with technical issues throughout the finale in Spain, and fell to fifth in the final standings.

Now joining last year's drivers' and teams' champions Monlau Motorsport, and with fast and experienced team-mates in Adam Shepherd and Viktor Andersson, Butti completes an expanded and all-new line-up at the Barcelona-based team, with the team's objective to defend those titles in 2026.

“This year, the goal is to be competitive from the very first race alongside the team," said Butti. "We come to work at the highest level of professionalism and responsibility, and we're aiming for big achievements and to have a consistent and competitive season.

“I’m really impressed with the level of professionalism and attention to detail at Monlau. It’s a very-well structured team with people who work to a clear goal: to perform at the highest level. I very quickly felt comfortable here. They really listen to the driver, and I’m comfortable giving feedback and working together to get the best performance out of the car.

“My initial feeling with the CUPRA is positive. It’s different to what I’ve driven before, so it requires a period of adaptation. The car suits my driving style well and that there’s still a lot of potential to unlock.”

Butti will also be eligible for the Youth Best Trophy for drivers aged 21 and under.
