Max Hart has unfortunately been ruled out of the rest of the Monza TCR Europe race weekend following a crash in first practice on Friday afternoon.

The Irish racer, who sits 11th in the championship, went off at Biassono and damaged the front left of his Honda Civic Type R FL5 TCR.

ALM Motorsport are unable to repair the car in time for this weekend’s qualifying session and races, and so Hart has been withdrawn from the weekend.

With Hart’s withdrawal, and the standing down of the #486 MM Motorsport Honda which took part in practice only, driven by the promoter Rubén Fernández, the field will be at 28 cars for the rest of the event.

“Unfortunately, I had a heavy crash yesterday which has led to some unforeseen problems,” said Hart.  “It’s obviously not the way we wanted the weekend to go. A huge thank you to all my sponsors, supporters and everyone who continues to back me, it means a lot.”
