John Filippi(fastest): “When the team told me that I did the pole position I asked them to repeat it twice because I didn’t believe it! When they told me the gap I was just impressed, because for me the lap was good but not perfect. You know, it is very difficult conditions, with slicks on the wet track, so it’s very difficult to find the grip. Between Q1 and Q2 the track was completely different, I think like 4 seconds between Q1 and Q2, so honestly I know that we were faster yesterday, but today I think the team did a fantastic job in these conditions - the car was amazing. Of course, I think some of it was luck, as you always need some luck in motorsport, but I think it was the right setup in the right conditions.”

Nicola Baldan(2^nd): “With these conditions, wet on wet, it is perfect for my driving style and sets me up perfectly for victory in TCR Europe. John did an awesome job with his lap, probably his one flying lap, and the pace he has shown is fantastic but I am confident during the race that I will reduce this gap and I will try to overtake him to beat him.”

Jáchym Galáš(3^rd): “The conditions were incredibly tricky and I didn’t really expect such a result during Qualifying but here we are. I hope I’ll be able to keep P3 during the race, we will see how the weather is going to be. So far in the Qualifying nobody really knew what to expect – we decided to go for slicks and it worked, but it could have happened that it started raining a bit more; it did in Q2, but it was the same for everybody, everybody went for slicks so it was pretty alright. We will see in the race, especially if it is going to be like this in the rain, going into the first chicane it’s going to be difficult. I haven’t really seen the results yet, so I can’t really say if I will be able to push more or if I will have to fight for P3, I’ll just hope for the best and try to keep my head down and see what happens”
