Nagy and Tassi aim for victory at the Hungaroring

The TCR Europe series resumes this weekend at Budapest's Hungaroring for rounds 7 and 8 with PCR Sport's Mikel Azcona as the current points leader. The young Spaniard will try to defend his 11-point margin ahead of Dušan Borković (Target Competition), while Jean-Karl Vernay (Leopard Lukoil Team WRT) hopes to further reduce his gap of 39 points.
However, the favourite drivers are local heroes Dániel Nagy (M1RA) and Attila Tassi (Hell Energy Racing KCMG); they both are still chasing a maiden victory in the series and will benefit from the noisy support of the enthusiastic Hungarian fans. Last year, Tassi won the TCR International Series rounds when he was racing for M1RA and earlier in the current season him and Nagy have already raced at the Hungaroring, in the WTCR event. An occasion that saw Nagy fighting on an equal footing with his fellow World Cup competitors and claiming a well deserved second place.
TCR Europe welcomes back Igor Stefanovski (Stefanovski Racing Team) who was forced to miss the previous race meeting at Spa for the consequences of his crash at Zandvoort, and return with the aim of showing their potential.
Other drivers are also eager to shine in Hungary: Kris Richard (Target Competition) wants to make up for the the penalty that stripped him of Race 2 victory at Spa; Julien Briché (JSB Compétition) wants to prove that the victory he inherited from Richard was not undeserved; Maxime Potty (Comtoyou Racing) is excited by his podium results at Spa; Josh Files (Hell Energy Racing KCMG) needs points to stay in the title fight and Stefano Comini who has rejoined the series in Spa with a Honda Civic run by Autodis Racing THX.
Two Hungarian teams will take part in the event, M1RA with Nagy and Francisco Mora and Zengő Motorsport with two Cupra cars; the drivers will be named later.
The combination of BoP and Compensation Weight lists the Audi RS3 LMS as the heaviest car (1315kg); the Cupra, Honda Civic and Hyundai cars are 50kg lighter, while the Volkswagen Golf and Peugeot 308 are a further 10 and 40kg lighter respectively.
