Nicolas Baert finished the year bringing home another trophy, as he was elected 2020 Rookie of the Year in his home country, Belgium.
The yearly RACB Awards, granted by a specialized jury, are the top prizes in Belgian motorsports and considered the equivalent of national champion titles. Alongside Baert, were honoured Formula E runner-up Stoffel Vandoorne as Driver of the Year and Team WRT as Team of the Year for their successes in the GT World Challenge Europe.
Owing to the health restrictions, the traditional Awards ceremony was held digitally on Tuesday evening and the 19-year-old driver from Waterloo received his trophy in the workshop of Comtoyou Racing.
For his first season in tin-top racing, Baert has finished third in the TCR Europe, winning the Yokohama Trophy for Rookies and netting also the TCR Benelux title.
