Canadian racer Nicolas Taylor enjoyed a strong debut in the TCR Europe series, taking two top ten finishes in the series in his PMA Motorsport Audi RS 3 LMS, and getting involved in some big fights in the second race with title contenders as he made his way through the pack.
The TCR Italy frontrunner is still in his first season of TCR competition, and made a strong start in Saturday’s race, finishing in ninth place, before he found more pace and was involved in a number of scrapes, including at one point a five-way battle across the line as he worked his way into the top ten.
His results from the weekend have helped his ascendency in the KUMHO TCR World Ranking, with his points from the weekend moving up into the top 80 this week.
“The second race was a fun race, it was much more of a big battle,” said Taylor. “This weekend was fantastic, I’ve gained huge experience racing with these guys, it’s definitely helped me take a huge step forwards with my race craft, as that’s the biggest thing I’ve been missing this year, getting my elbows out.
“I started P14, and finished seventh, so up seven places, so that’s huge, that’s my most I’ve moved up just in overtakes alone in a race this year including the Italian championship, so that was huge experience points.”
