Pepe Oriola returns to Brutal Fish Racing for 2022

Brutal Fish Racing has confirmed a two-car entry for the 2022 TCR Europe series, with Pepe Oriola returning to the team after electing to spend last season contesting the brand new TCR South America series, which he finished as champion. The other car will be in the hands of team boss Martin Ryba, who narrowly missed out on winning the Diamond class in last year’s TCR Europe championship.

2022 will mark the fifth consecutive season in TCR Europe for both Brutal Fish and Martin Ryba and the team will once again use its familiar black and orange Honda Civic Type-R cars built by JAS Motorsport.

Martin Ryba commented: “I am very happy that we have Pepe back behind the wheel; we have become great friends since he came to Brutal Fish back in 2020. I am confident that we will make a strong pairing on the track and off the track as well! I hope that the starting grid will be big and that we will have a lot of great fights against the other drivers. TCR Europe has always been a great series with a nice atmosphere in the paddock and the grid is from year to year stronger and stronger.”

Pepe Oriola added: “I am very proud to join the Brutal Fish family for the 2022 season that will be my seventh in TCR. Winning the TCR South America championship last year gave me a boost and the experience gained outside of the track as a coach in the team last year also gave me a perspective I didn’t have before. I want to say thank you to Brutal Fish and JAS Motorsport and I hope I can bring some great races and a strong season.”
