Mike Halder (1st): “It feels fantastic that we are back; it’s nice to be back here in TCR Europe. For Q1 we had a few problems, so I changed the car for Q2, and that was the right move. My second lap was the best lap I think I ever drove, and I’m really happy to be here and a part of TCR Europe, and we are back and now we are looking for the race and hopefully maximum success. For the last years I have had the race pace more than the qualifying pace and yesterday we did also a long run, so I think we have good data to make the car ready for the race distance. Hopefully we have maximum success and I will enjoy a nice race”
Jack Young (2nd): “That was very good, very good for the team and I’m very happy. We missed out on the top spot, but at least Mike is up there and we have a front row lock-out for the race. It was definitely trickier in Q2 than it was in Q1, but we will take that moving forward into the race and hopefully we can transfer that pace into the race as well. Might there be some team tactics coming in race 1? You will have to wait and see!”
Nicola Baldan (3rd): “I’m very happy with that. The car worked really well and I’m also very happy for the team. We worked really hard over the winter, and this is a good way to start our new season. Of course I want to take this opportunity to offer my thanks to Target Competition and Hyundai Motorsport for this result. This is only the beginning!”
