Tom Coronel (first): “This was a good start to the season, but it’s just a pity that we cannot fight with the KUMHO TCR World Tour guys; okay, I’m happy with TCR Europe because that’s where our focus is on. At the beginning of the race I was very hot and I said ‘I want to fight with the World Tour guys’ because this has been my history and this is where I should belong but for different reasons I chose TCR Europe and so it’s good to start the season like this, to be consistent and score good points. At one stage, I said ‘why are you fighting with them?’ but when I was P3 with only four laps to go I thought maybe I could get P3 overall but then my tyres were going down and I thought now I had to be clever. Now I just fight for the TCR Europe championship, but it was still good. I was on the outside of Björk in P2 for about fifty metres and so I was having fun!”

John Filippi (second): “It’s incredible to start TCR Europe like this; it’s been a long time since I had this kind of start to my season. I think we have seen that for the next race that it will be very hard to fight with Tom and Kobe. I’m sure in the streets of Pau it will be even more difficult, more intense that it has been this weekend, so I have to be prepared and confident and I will push and I will do my maximum for the rest of the season.”

Rubén Fernández (third): “I feel so happy because this was a completely unexpected podium. I feel confident with the car and I could see that my brother and I could push on the front, so I’m very happy. The car today was amazing; we felt a lot of confidence and it felt much better than yesterday. We changed a few things and today the car was unbelievable, so I am very happy with how it felt.”
