Jean-Karl Vernay and Maxime Potty continued to top the timesheet at Spa; they posted the two fastest laps in the second Free Practice, just like they had done in the previous session.
Vernay set a new track record for TCR cars with a lap of 2:30.534, beating the Mat’o Homola’s 2:30.759 that was worth the pole position in last year’s TCR International Series. Potty was second fastest in 2:30.705, reducing his gap from Vernay to one tenth of a second.
The two Peugeot drivers, Julien Briché of JSB Compétition and Francisco Abreu of Sports & You improved significantly compared to the first Practice; the Frenchman was third fastest with a lap of 2:31.112, improving by 3.3 seconds and the Portuguese ranked seventh (2:32.037, 4.7 seconds faster).
Target Competition teammates Dušan Borković (2:31.316) and Kris Richard (2:31.854) were classified in fourth and fifth positions respectively; they were followed by Attila Tassi who made it to the track after missing the first practice. The young Hungarian was the best of the Honda drivers in sixth position (2:31.885).
Abreu, Reece Barr (2:32.160 in Target’s third Hyundai), Tassi’s teammate Josh Files (2:32.184) and Mikel Azcona’s Cupra (2:32.521) rounded off the top ten.
The Qualifying will take place tomorrow morning at 10:55.
