Michelle Halder (1st): “The start was just amazing! I directly overtook Daniel Lloyd immediately after the start and then I had a fantastic race, with no mistakes from my side and the car was just amazing. I had a great race; this was my first time in Zolder and also this was the first win for a female driver in TCR Europe, so I am very, very happy - it’s incredible. In the first race weekend at Paul Ricard we were there, and Mike won and then I won here plus Mike had a second place yesterday, so it’s been just an amazing start to TCR Europe for us. It’s been great for the team and I am just so happy right now!”
Daniel Lloyd (2nd): “It’s been a great weekend and we got some useful points here, so I’ve extended my lead in the championship while carrying the maximum ballast. My starts weren’t the best this weekend, but we think we know why – it has to do with the clutch, which will need some work, but we’re confident we can fix it. It was an awesome job by the Brutal Fish team to be carrying 60kg around Zolder, which is known for being hard on the brakes. To be honest, I don’t think the Honda will be the car to be on pole everywhere, but it’s one of the most consistent cars over the entire season. The Audi cars were strong here and they will be strong at Monza and Spa, but at least we’ll be going to Monza without so much weight.”
Dániel Nagy (3rd): “I’m mega-happy that my championship fight is back on track. This weekend was really, really hard for all the Hyundai cars as the Honda and Audi cars were much faster than us. To finish on the podium is really, really nice and a bit unexpected. I made a good start and then I had some good luck as two cars ahead of me collided, then I tried to concentrate on myself but Mike Halder was giving me extra pressure; he was faster on the straights and he was better under braking so it was tough. I took a lot of risks, to be honest, so big thanks to the BRC Racing Team. It looks like we are heading in the right direction - there is a big fight between the two Hyundai teams and so I’m very happy for the team that we were able to be faster than Target Competition this weekend.”
