RC2 Racing Team to field Felipe Fernández and Santiago Concepción in 2025

RC2 Racing Team will be back to compete in the TCR Europe series this year, running a pair of Honda Civic Type R FL5 TCRs for Felipe Fernández and Santiago Concepción.

The Barcelona-based team is looking to make significant strides this season after a competitive campaign in 2024, with Fernández securing the Diamond Trophy and putting on some star performances, especially at Spa-Francorchamps where he secured pole position and set the all-time TCR race lap record.

Concepción meanwhile was in only his first year of TCR in 2024, competing in only a partial season. The 21-year-old put on a fantastic performance at the season finale at Valencia, taking his first win in the rookies’ category, and scoring a pair of top five finishes, one coming from the back of the 18-car field.

Fernández will again be eligible for the Diamond Trophy, while Concepción will be eligible for the young drivers’ title, while podiums and race victories will be the target for the all-Spanish driver pairing this year.

"First of all, I want to thank everyone involved in this project for embarking on this venture once again, especially my family for their support and to RC2 Racing Team for their trust in me,” said Fernández.

“Last season I wasn't as consistent as I would have liked and I made some mistakes. Over the off-season I have worked together with RC2 Racing Team to improve those driving areas and also how to prepare for the weekend, driver and car, to be fast from the very beginning of FP1. For this season I would like to improve on my 2024 results, but more importantly, improve my qualifying performance, which I think was my weakest point last year.”

“The 2025 TCR Europe calendar also looks amazing. I'm glad to see Spa back again as it’s one of my favorites, and one of the few where I've had the pleasure to be on the podium.”

After a partial programme in 2024, Concepción’s will now race in the full season, and hopes to carry on the same momentum from Valencia, where he finished on the podium as the final rookie winner of the season.

“The plan is to do the whole championship, and before the first race we’ll do some testing to be prepared to fight at the top from the start,” said Concepción.

“I remember the feeling very well from the last race of 2024, and I’m very excited to get racing again,” he added.

“I felt very comfortable with the guys at RC2 Racing Team, the mechanics, the engineers, and with JAS Motorsport – the car was working very well at the end of the season – it took some time to get the right feeling with the car but by Valencia we’d got it; so I’m thinking I’m ready to be fighting there at the front of the grid.”
