Ruben Volt disqualified, Jenson Brickley remains the champion on a tiebreak

Ruben Volt has been disqualified from his second-place finish in Race 2 in Barcelona, promoting the Clairet brothers to the podium positions. However, there’s no effect on the championship title, with Jenson Brickley still winning the title on a tiebreak with Teddy Clairet.

Volt was excluded due to an issue on the standing start procedure, which resulted in it not being determined by the driver, but the car’s ECU. While the issue was recognised as not providing any performance advantage, it was still deemed not in compliance with Article 3.8 of the TCR Europe Technical Regulations, and the restrictions on driver aids.

With Volt’s exclusion, Teddy Clairet moves up to second place in the result, with Jimmy Clairet third, with new champion Brickley fourth.

Brickley and Clairet are now tied at the top of the standings on 208 points each. With both Clairet and Brickley winning two races this season, the title is decided on the count of second places, with Brickley on three compared to Clairet’s one.

The teams’ title is still won by Monlau Motorsport, by two points ahead of Team Clairet Sport, with Eric Gené confirmed as the Youth champion by four points.
