Ruben Volt topped the final practice session of the weekend in a dusk practice session at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, while championship leader Marco Butti had limited running, setting just six laps and finishing in 16th place.
After a few installation laps, Jenson Brickley set down the first realistic benchmark with a time of 1:50.688 just before the ten-minute mark, a time he didn’t improve upon for the rest of the session but would keep him in seventh in the final order.
The Solite Indigo Hyundai of Junesung Park would be next to go to the top of the timesheets, the first driver to break the 1:40 barrier with a time of 1:49.653, before Volt put in his best time with just under ten minutes remaining, one of the few drivers to improve their time in the last half of the session.
In the final order, Volt lead Park by 0.338 seconds, with Felipe Fernández third, half a second off the pace, with Jacopo Cimenes’ Honda fourth and Viktor Andersson’s Lynk & Co fifth.
Of the championship front runners, Brickley was again the best-placed in seventh, with Monlau Motorsport team-mate Eric Gené tenth, with Teddy and Jimmy Clairet just behind in 11th and 12th.
Filippo Barberi missed the session after a late engine change in his AIKOA Racing Audi RS 3 LMS, while Junui Park and Giacomo Prandelli set no competitive times after every one of their fast laps was deleted due to a track limits violation.
The next session is qualifying, which gets underway at 10:00 CEST and will be streamed live on TCR TV’s YouTube channel.
