SMC Junior Motorsport with two Peugeot cars at Jarama

Jarama-based SMC Junior Motorsport will join the TCR Europe grid this weekend for the final event of the season that takes place on the circuit nearby Madrid.
The Spanish outfit will run two Peugeot 308 cars for Enrique Hernando and Fernando Navarrete, these were the very same cars that ran last weekend in the TCR Ibérico event at Jarama, where team principal Gonzalo de Andrés scored a double victory beating twice Evgenii Leonov in the Volcano Motorsport CUPRA after a couple of thrilling battles.
Hernando, 25-year-old from Madrid, has emerged as one of the top drivers in the Campeonato de España Resistencia, having won four races at the wheel of the SMC Peugeot 308 he shared with de Andrés in the two previous years. He had also made a one-off appearance in TCR Europe two years ago at Barcelona.
The event will mark the first time for Navarrete to race a TCR car, however the 40-year-old from Ciudad Real has a long-standing experience with front-wheel-driven touring cars, having won the Spanish titles in the Renault Clio and the Peugeot 207 cups.
