The second race weekend of the 2026 TCR Europe Touring Car Series is up next as the championship visits the iconic Spa-Francorchamps circuit, a venue which has been a part of the series calendar since its inception in 2018.
Alex Ley heads into the weekend at the top of the drivers' table after a very successful debut at the season opener at Mugello last month. The BRC Racing Team driver enjoys an 18-point lead over Hyundai stablemate Junesung Park, though Ley will likely enjoy the 40kg compensation weight he picks up after such a strong opener rather less.
Park had a consistent opening weekend despite being involved in a few scrapes. The South Korean is just three points clear of Mike Halder, the best-placed of ALM Motorsport's three Honda drivers.
With Nicolas Taylor having broken his duck in terms of TCR Europe race wins at Mugello, the Canadian goes into the weekend fourth in the standings. The two-time TCR Italy champion will be chasing further success in order to build his championship charge. He is just a few points clear of team-mate Nicola Baldan, who narrowly missed the podium in Mugello and is still chasing his first since 2024.
Ley's team-mate Gabriele Covini was fast at Mugello and will be looking to replicate the pace he showed at the TCR Europe Cup event a few weeks ago at Spa-Francorchamps, following a mixed season opener.
Monlau Motorsport had a tough start to the season, and the reigning drivers' and teams' champions will be hoping to achieve some success at Spa. Marco Butti scored a victory at the circuit last year (albeit with another team and car), while Viktor Andersson knows the circuit well. Meanwhile, Adam Shepherd will be competing at the track for the first time at what is the closest thing to a home race on the calendar for the British driver.
Can Felipe Fernández score a hat-trick? Plus, fresh faces for the weekend
Another one to watch will be Felipe Fernández at RC2 Racing Team. The Spaniard is looking for a hat-trick of pole positions at the circuit, though his qualifying lap record from last year was broken by Ley in the TCR Europe Cup event last month; as such, both records could prove a challenge to maintain.
A few new names will take part, bringing the grid up to the promoter's planned capacity of 26 cars. Stian Paulsen returns to the series after four years away, with the Norwegian competing for his own team in an Audi RS 3 LMS.
Michael Markussen will make his TCR Europe and Spa-Francorchamps debut this weekend after a year in TCR Spain and, prior to that, a five-year spell in his native TCR Denmark series.
Jac Constable will also make his Europe and Spa debut, putting three British drivers on the grid. With the entry of TCR UK frontrunners JH Racing, there is also a British team on the grid for the first time this year.
Sandro Pelatti moves across from PMA Motorsport to SP Compétition but remains in a CUPRA Leon VZ TCR, deputising for Mikhail Simonov, who has other commitments this weekend.
When and how to watch
The drivers get two practice sessions on Friday, before qualifying and Race 1 on Saturday, followed by the reversed-grid Race 2 on Sunday morning.
The races will be streamed live on the TCR TV YouTube channel, which is also the home of the Kumho FIA TCR World Tour, in which many of the series' drivers were also in action last weekend.
The series will also be broadcast on the digital sports channel DAZN. Furthermore, through The Racing Line app, the series can be found easily as a promoted partner; the app is available on the Apple and Google Play stores.
