Stefano Comini is forced to miss Zandvoort

Two-time TCR International Series champion Stefano Comini will be forced to skip the second event of the TCR Europe Series that takes place this weekend at Zandvoort.
After putting on a great show in the season opener at Le Castellet two weeks ago, when he recovered from 26th on the grid to sixth during the second race on the damp track and was eventually classified tenth, Comini has decided to switch from the Subaru WRX STI he drove in France to another car.

Stefano Fecchio, team manager of the Switzerland-based Race Republic explained: “When we were at Le Castellet we began evaluating the opportunity of working with a different team and a different car. We hoped to be ready to race in Zandvoort, but there was not enough time to get everything ready properly. Therefore we have elected to skip this event in order to be well prepared for the next one at Spa.”

Although he is obviously disappointed not to be racing on the Dutch racetrack, Comini will be at Zandvoort as a spectator, together with Fecchio.
“It is a way to show our fans that we are working to come back in Spa. We will announce with which team and car in the coming days,” said Comini.
