TCR Europe's campaign to support young drivers

With the aim of incentivizing the participation of young drivers, TCR Europe will offer free entry fees to Junior teams that will run rookies.

Promoter Paulo Ferreira explained: "One of the aims of the TCR concept is to develop the pyramid that helps teams and drivers to advance from the national championships to the top that is the FIA WTCR.
The TCR Europe represents the launch pad towards the World Cup and the systems works very well. When we look at this year's WTCR entry list, we can see that many of the competitors have previously raced in TCR Europe, such as Mikel Azcona, Aurélien Comte, Luca Engstler, Josh Files, Luca Filippi, Gilles Magnus, Attila Tassi and Santiago Urrutia.
Encouraged by this success we have decided to support our regular teams in running a greater number of cars and discovering new and promising young talents. With this idea in mind we will offer one free entry to those teams that will add a Junior team to their line-up, to run a car in the hands of a rookie driver that is younger than 23 years of age."
