While celebrating the tenth year of motorsport activity, Team WRT launched its racing programmes at its headquarters in Baudour. Programmes that include participations in the two main TCR series, the WTCR and TCR Europe.
Team principal Vincent Vosse commented: “Touring Car racing has become a substantial part of our activities and has already provided great satisfaction. We want to be even more successful and it won’t be easy, as competition is becoming fiercer at all levels, but as always, we will aim for top achievements.”
Jean-Karl Vernay and Gordon Shedden have been confirmed as the drivers of the two Leopard-branded Audi RS 3 LMS cars in the FIA World Cup in which they were classified fifth and 13th respectively last year, scoring a total of five race wins (four Vernay and one Shedden).
The line up in TCR Europe includes one Audi for Uruguay’s Santiago Urrutia and one Volkswagen Golf GTI for the young Belgian Maxime Potty. In 2018 Team WRT ran only one Audi for Vernay who won three races and finished runner up in the standings.
The Belgian squad has also announced the plan to take part in the inaugural TCR Spa 500 race in October.
