The second event of the TCR Europe Series at Zandvoort marks the application of the Compensation Weight system in addition to the Balance of Performance.
The system takes into account the fastest lap times of the two fastest cars of each model in the Qualifying and the Races of the previous event.
The results are reduced by 50% on the occasion of this first application.
From the following event in Spa, the calculation of the Compensation Weight will take into account the lap times set in the two previous events, while from the fourth event onwards the calculation will take into account the results of the three previous events.
For Zandvoort, the Compensation Weight system allocates the maximum ballast of 60 kilos to the Hyundai i30 N, 45kg to the Cupra TCR, 40kg to the Honda Civic and 30kg to the Audi RS3 LMS SEQ and DSG, Peugeot 308 TCR and Volkswagen Golf GTI.
The Cupra TCR DSG, that makes its first appearance in the series at Zandvoort, is allocated a ballast of 60kg.
These ballasts must be added to the Target Racing Weight and the BoP ballast as per the TCR Technical Bulletin 9/2018.
