Following Race 2 of the TCR Europe series at the Red Bull Ring, the Stewards imposed penalties on several drivers for incidents that occurred during and after the race.
The most serious incident occurred in the paddock and involved Dušan Borković, who was judged to have been guilty of ‘…improper conduct and unsporting behavior for the second time after the same situation at Monza 2018.’ The incident occurred when Borković tried to tear open the car door to reach the driver of car #25, knocking over a woman in the process.
As a result, Borković was excluded from the race and will be reported to the parent ASN of the series, to the competition ASN and to the FIA.
Two drivers received grid penalties for the next races in which they will compete. Stian Paulsen was judged to have crossed the white line at the pit lane entry and so will be dropped three positions on the grid, while Gilles Magnus also received a three-place penalty for causing a collision with Daniel Lloyd.
The Stewards decided to take no further action in the other incidents under investigation.
