Three brand new Audi cars for Comtoyou Racing in 2022

Comtoyou Racing has announced a three-car entry for this year’s TCR Europe series, with Tom Coronel, Franco Girolami and Viktor Davidovski set to drive three brand new Audi RS 3 LMS cars in the championship.

The Belgian team won both the TCR Europe Drivers’ and Teams’ titles in 2020 and ended last season as runners-up in the Teams’ category. The move to introduce three of the new Audi RS 3 LMS cars means the team should be well-placed to once again challenge for both trophies.

Tom Coronel finished 2021 in fourth place in the standings and was the team’s highest-placed driver after winning Race 1 at Zandvoort and recording no fewer than ten top-ten finishes. Both Franco Girolami and Viktor Davidovski make the switch to the Comtoyou Audi cars after previously competing in Honda Civic Type-R cars. Girolami came close to winning the overall Drivers’ title last year, only being beaten by Mikel Azcona at the final round in Barcelona, while Davidovski won the series’ Diamond class.

Jean-Michel Baert, the Team Principal of Comtoyou Racing, said: “We remain very loyal to TCR Europe because it is a highly professional, high-level and at the same time enjoyable championship. The championship’s relatively small staff work wonders and the sporting level increases year upon year. These last few seasons we achieved excellent results, with two titles in 2020 and a good hard-fought second place last year. It goes without saying that our ambitions are once again focused on that direction.”
