Viktor Davidovski scored his first podium of the season at the final opportunity at Round 12 of the 2024 TCR Europe series season at Valencia, and also his first for Monlau Motorsport and in a CUPRA.
While starting from pole position, the driver from North Macedonia lost the lead after an error to Turn 1, but soon found his momentum and was able to set good times to the end of the race, keeping at bay the title-contending rival CUPRA of Aurélien Comte to finish in third position at the chequered flag.
Davidovski’s points haul helped ensure Monlau Motorsport were able to overhaul SP Compétition to claim second position in the teams’ championship in its first full season of TCR competition.
“I’m very happy with the podium, as it’s the first podium for me this year,” said Davidovski.
“I was leading at the start, but I lost the car at Turn 1 and Turn 2, so maybe the setup was too aggressive, but after three laps the balance was good and I could manage the pace to finish P3.
“I saw after the safety car Comte was behind me, but also that Franco was just behind him, and I so I knew with that Franco would be champion, so I could relax.”
