WSC Group to resume promotion of TCR Europe from 2027

Neil Hudson

WSC Group, the owner of the TCR concept and promoter of the Kumho FIA TCR World Tour, will take over the promotion of TCR Europe from the 2027 season. The decision represents a further step in WSC's long-term strategy to consolidate and strengthen the TCR platform worldwide, fostering closer coordination between
its international, regional, and national competitions while preserving the identity and independence of each series.

As the TCR concept continues to evolve, WSC aims to establish an increasingly integrated and sustainable structure, offering stability and long-term opportunities for manufacturers, competitors and promoters.

Within this framework, TCR Europe will continue to play a key role as one of the leading regional championships, providing a highly competitive platform and an important link between national TCR series and the Kumho FIA TCR World Tour.

The championship will build on the positive momentum of recent seasons, maintaining continuity in its operational structure and working with the existing team to ensure a smooth transition and further development.

WSC Group President Marcello Lotti commented: "The TCR concept has grown into a truly global motorsport platform, and we believe the time has come to take further steps towards a more coordinated and structured approach to its future development. Taking direct responsibility for the promotion of TCR Europe is part of this vision. We want to reinforce the connections between our championships, create new opportunities for competitors and manufacturers, and ensure that TCR continues to develop on solid and sustainable foundations.

"TCR Europe has demonstrated its strength and potential over the past two seasons. I would like to thank Rubén Fernández for his commitment and the valuable contribution he has made to the championship's development.

"We are pleased to continue working with the existing operational team, whose experience and dedication will be essential in building on what has been achieved. Our objective is not simply to maintain the success of TCR Europe, but to strengthen its position within the international TCR family and create the conditions for its continued growth in the years ahead."

The 2027 TCR Europe calendar will be officially unveiled by WSC Group president Marcello Lotti on Sunday, 25 October, at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, marking the first concrete step in the championship's next chapter under WSC's direct promotion.
